CDV Systems Training and Implementation Services Accelerate Revit Success for Donald Powers Architects, Stubbins Associates and Sasaki Associates
Thursday, 31 March 2005 00:00

Winchester, MA - CDV Systems, providers of Autodesk Revit and CodeBook courseware, training, implementation, and consulting services, announced that clients Donald Powers Architects, Stubbins Associates and Sasaki Associates credit CDV Systems with helping them to quickly learn and successfully use Autodesk Revit.

CDV Systems provided these firms with its full, five-day, process-based, hands-on, introductory and advanced training using its own popular courseware - plus a wide range of customized implementation services. These services are designed to transfer the office CAD standards to the Revit platform to jump-start productivity in the first week and include help with modifying the office standard template files and the full range of office types and styles for clients' new Revit environment.

All three firms have testified to the benefits of CDV Systems' help in getting them production-ready on Revit. The success of two of these firms is highlighted in two recent publications:

  • A new Autodesk case study, "Donald Powers Architects Saves Time and Money with Revit," reports Revit benefits such as a 30-percent productivity gain in design and documentation. The case study can be found here. Read more additional client comments.
  • The article "Implementing BIM, Part 3: Staff Training" in the January issue of Cadalyst AEC features Stubbins Associates as a customer example. This article can be found here. Read more additional client comments.

The Story behind the Revit Success: CDV Systems Courseware and Instruction

During a recent Autodesk Webinar featuring the Donald Powers Architects success story, Donald Powers, Principal, said: "A large part of our Revit success is due to having CDV Systems courseware as a reference for specific tasks. The instructor is excellent and one of the best Revit users around. CDV Systems 'process-based training' Revit manuals were set up in exactly the sequence by which we work, and focused carefully on the end result -- a set of workable documents by which to design, present, and construct a project." He adds: "We estimate it took about a month before the office was really humming on Revit -- far less than it would have taken on almost any other [training] program I can think of."

In the Cadalyst article Jeff Millet, AIA, Senior Associate/Director of Information Technology for Stubbins, commented on the CDV method of morning classroom training and afternoon on-the-job practice, "we were able to move the project forward, and our staff could immediately apply the concepts they learned on a real project." Elsewhere, he adds, "The courseware was great. I didn't have to take notes! The instructor knows Revit, and he knows tips and tricks that we would not have picked up on our own. I know we have the best Revit training courseware available."

Mark McDonough, Senior Associate/CAD Systems Manager at Sasaki Associates, has stated for publication: "Overall, the training was excellent, imparting a solid understanding about the capabilities and inner workings of Revit. By employing a methodical, step-by-step approach towards learning and understanding a radically new paradigm in architectural design and documentation, I feel confident our group of trainees will succeed with Revit and the shift to BIM. The instructor is able to effectively pass along his knowledge to the students. The courseware is excellent. I would most certainly recommend CDV Systems to any firm interested in getting up to speed with Revit." Read more additional client comments.

Cyril Verley, President at CDV Systems, comments, "We offer on-site, process-based Autodesk Revit Training for all user levels as well as provide a full scope of implementation services to transfer existing CAD standards to a Revit platform. These implementation services are designed to get users production-ready in the shortest possible time - to minimize hours that aren't billable and maximize the time and cost benefits of Revit."
