The H.L. Turner Group Inc. S. D. CAD Manager / Architectural Designer / Job Captain - I enjoyed the class very much. The CDV instructor presented the information in a hands-on manner that accelerated or decelerated accordingly to accommodate the class learning style and level. The course provided us the groundwork and advanced functions to properly begin using the software. I liked the pace of the class and the ability to move forward with advanced functions. The half-day learning schedule allowed better material retention. The class was a pleasure. The instructor commands a broad knowledgebase that he easily translates to the students. His easygoing attitude was not only courteous and respectful to the student but also professional and concise. He obviously has a deep understanding of the software, and the processes to which it will be applied. His experience as a registered Architect working in the business has allowed him to understand and address the issues that we face on a day-to-day basis, and manipulate the software to perform the relative functions. The instructor presented the material in an easygoing manner that allowed for questions and tangential advanced function discussion as we worked through the courseware. He was concise and deliberate. He answered the questions that he knew, and figured out the ones he was unsure of on the spot. If you have any interest in utilizing Revit, you have to learn the process of applying it to your business. This course starts from the beginning and continues throughout using real example models so as to allow the user to fully understand the potential that Revit has to produce coordinated documents, as well as other necessary program and graphics requirements. I would recommend CDV Systems to anyone interested in utilizing Revit. D. J. Architectural Designer - The Class was really good. I learned a lot more then I thought I would based on other programs and classes I have attended. It far exceeded my expectations. Personal attention to my needs as a designer and ability to answer my questions as needed was what I liked best. Our instructor is very intelligent and has lots of knowledge about the program. He is also very professional and personable. You name it he knows it! He knows most of the answers and is willing to find the few he doesn't. I would definitely recommend this course to others; I know others who have had courses and they do not compare. W. R. Structural Designer - I was very surprised how quickly I was able to get up and running with the courseware and our instructor's guidance. Prior to attending the training, I had never touched any Revit-based software. The training has given me the tools I need to explore Revit. I was not sure what to expect, having never been exposed to any Revit software. I have run Autocad 2000 for many years, and was skeptical at best going into the course. The power and versatility of Revit and the training in this course was exceptional. I liked the fact that I was one of three people being trained. It seemed to allow our instructor more freedom to vary off- course slightly when we needed him too, yet still cover a lot of material in a short amount of time. The only thing I did not like about the training was struggling to let go of all of my Autocad habits! His knowledge of the software, and ability to answer our questions, at times when we were not even sure HOW to ask the question, was exceptional. We were encouraged to ask questions at any and all times, and he still was able to cover a significant amount of subject matter. Our instructor made sure I was up to speed, and helped me along quite nicely. His familiarity with the courseware, combined with his knowledge of the software, made for a very smooth presentation. Due to our schedules here in the office, we asked him to change up the order of his presentation, and he did it flawlessly - even when straying from the courseware. There was not one question he was not able to answer. He would even work on questions overnight, and expand on his answers the next morning at the start of class. I found the "process" based training to be a lot more useful than I expected. To be able to run the software, follow the manual, and receive direction from our instructor simultaneously made it a much smoother transition than I expected. I am looking forward to applying what I learned in the training to a real project, and exploring further what Revit has to offer. We are looking forward to having CDV Systems back for additional training. |
