Payette Associates, Inc. Implementation TrainingG. D. IT Systems Manager - My overall impressions of CDV's Implementation Training were good. There were a lot of tasks that needed to be completed and the structure allowed for training and learning the "hows and whys" in addition to completing those tasks. The implementation met my expectations - it established our firm's standards in Revit. I especially liked the integrated training of families. Our instructor was excellent - he did a great job of presenting the information and instructing and showed a good thorough knowledge of the application regardless of version. He was also a good communicator who adjusted to the students' level. I found the CDV Implementation Package to be necessary- we could not easily proceed without it. “Train the Project” TrainingP. C. Project Manager - I think that working in the project that is being designed is a very good way to understand what is needed to streamline the training. We were very impressed with the instructor. He had a very easy time answering any of our questions and was eager to help us with work over the weekend so that we were not left without any answers. We hope CDV Systems will maintain contact with us as we work more in REVIT and look forward to having CDV Systems in for more training sessions. H. J. Designer - The instructor was excellent, and extremely patient. His ability to relate the project set-up and how it wants to be used was very helpful. I'm looking forward to learning more. The Revit class was well thought out and well planned. I feel it was a good class overall. The instructor was clear and precise. He answered questions quickly and accurately. The courseware was put together well. If Autodesk intends to market this product aggressively then I would recommend that they take this class. Otherwise it is a pain to work on this software with consultants and other companies. F. T. Designer - I had a very positive impression of this class. I have always found technology training sessions excruciatingly painful to sit through, but the CDV instructor made the class both enjoyable and informative. I was expecting a long slow painful week, but the time actually flew by. We covered subject matter in breadth and depth, and the connections between different learning objectives were always made clear. I found the "Training the Project" method to be a well thought-out, guided approach to acquiring skills, as applied to specific design needs. The cumulative effect of lessons that continued to build on the same model was both encouraging (look at all we've done!) as well as instructive in how a Revit project is built-up over time. What I liked best was that the orientation of screens/students/instructor was very conducive to good feedback and communication. Additionally, some of the best things I learned during the session came about as the result of doing something wrong - seeing a broken model showed me what a working one should look like. Our instructor was friendly, knowledgeable, responsive and easy to approach with questions. In fact, he was so knowledgeable that, after a week of listening to him speak, his tone and timbre have become the de facto voice of my superego when engaging in Revit tasks. His ability to answer questions was excellent. Understanding the mistakes of another's keystrokes can be very difficult, but our instructor often cut straight to the critical error. I would recommend the CDV course to others. Anyone who conducts a software training course must both be qualified in the technical aspects of the program and have the ability to overcome the challenges presented by teaching. It's rare to find someone who excels in both areas, but our CDV instructor definitely fit the bill. C. T. Designer - This course met my expectations. I do feel like I have a solid understanding of the fundamentals. The instructor was quite knowledgeable and very willing to explain things more than once so that he was sure we understood. I especially like how he was able to make associations with other programs like Excel and AutoCAD to describe features inherent in Revit. I've always learned new CAD software by doing the tutorials from a manual. I still think that tutorials are important because they force the individual to work through the learning process, but for getting up to speed fast there is nothing quite like training sessions. L. A. Designer - The class was excellent. I thought the class moved at a nice pace and covered the basics that are needed to get started. "Train the Project" was a good way for us to immediately dive into our work instead of working on hypothetical projects and then possibly be lost when it came to beginning our own. The instructor was very patient with us and knowledgeable of the program. He had a very good understanding of the subject matter and was thorough in explaining it. I would recommend this course to others. It was a very thorough course. |
